The correct name of this holiday is Russia Day, not Independence Day (as it was called until 2002).
This day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR (the official date of this event is June 12, 1990).
Events on the occasion of the holiday were held all over the country. In the sky over Serpukhov, the aerobatic team "First Flight" left a message at an altitude of 2000 meters. With the help of aircraft engines, the celestial aces brought out the inscription "Russia, we love you" in the firmament.
