Dear colleagues! Congratulations on the Day of the Russian Air Fleet!

The origins of the celebration go back to the beginning of the 20th century, when aviation was just beginning to develop.

An important stage was the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR dated April 28, 1933 (1). According to the document, the Day of the Air Fleet was established, it was celebrated annually on August 18. This date has become a traditional holiday for everyone involved in aviation, from pilots to engineers and technicians.

The celebration included parades, exhibitions of aviation equipment, contests and other celebrations. In the Soviet Union, this was not only a reason to be proud of the achievements of aviation, but also an opportunity to show the power of the country.

After the formation of the Russian Federation, the tradition was adapted to the new realities. In 1992, a new date was set for the holiday — the third Sunday of August (2). This day continues to serve as an important symbol of the Russian aviation industry, designed to celebrate its achievements and the contribution of specialists.
